A new experiment has appeared in Google Labs called Google Shared Spaces.
Google Shared Spaces allows you to easily create a space with a collaborative gadget and a chat box in it. The gadgets are based on the Wave gadgets technology, so there are already more than 50 gadgets across different categories, like games, productivity, and event planning. Anybody can create a new space by going to the gallery and clicking on one of the featured gadgets. Spaces can easily be shared by just pasting the URL into a chat window, an email or a content sharing platform like Google Buzz or Twitter. And if you know a little Javascript, it is easy to get started building your own real-time, collaborative gadgets and create new spaces based on those.
At this point in time, that’s about all we have to go on, but more information will no doubt be revealed soon enough.
It sounds pretty social, so it could end up being tied to Google’s larger social media strategy, which may include a toolbar that appears across various Google services.
Either way, it’s in Google Labs, so it may or may not ever become a full fledged service. Some of these go on to become popular Google products though.

3 Common Search Engine Optimization Mistakes
By Grab Tedy
Good SEO is essential if you want your site to be seen and rank well on Google. There are many common mistakes that can literally destroy all of your search engine optimization efforts and hurt your page rank badly. Let me show you 3 of these mistakes so you don’t make them yourself.
First of all, the worst mistake you can make when you’re optimizing your web pages for Google is keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is when you attempt to trick Google’s spiders by repeating the same keyword or keyword phrase more than you really need to.
Not only does keyword stuffing makes your site’s content seem unnatural, your site will be severely punished for it. Keyword stuffing is one of the oldest tricks in the book and Google constantly adapts itself to prevent it. It’s against their policy and it will bring unnecessary traffic to your site.
Another big SEO mistake is using too much flash on your web pages. Even though flash may look great and more dynamic, they are not favored by most search engines. Why? Because flash objects are undetectable to search engines because of the fact that they can’t see the text embedded in the Flash objects. So you should keep your flash content to a minimum if you want your sites to rank well.
A lot of people make the mistake of misusing tags when they optimize their site. Tags are a cornerstone of SEO and your site will suffer badly if you don’t use them correctly. First of all, you should always use the ALT tag with your images. Why? Because most search engines have image search and you could lose a lot of traffic if you don’t use ALT tags to your advantage. Your images have to be tagged properly if you want them to appear in image search engines.
Furthermore, adding the ALT tag to your images will improve your ranking for certain keywords if you do it correctly and can improve your keyword diversity. Other important tags to remember are title, description and keywords tag. It’s very important that they’re written correctly and in congruence with your site if you want to maximize your results. Remember the keyword stuffing tip I gave you earlier. If Google catches your stuffing your tags with irrelevant keywords, your site will be severely punished.
So if you manage to avoid these three mistakes, your search engine optimization efforts will be more fruitful. So respect Google’s policies, avoid keyword stuffing, keep flash to a minimum and use tags properly and your site should do well.
