The keywords or keyword phrase that is used in your web page is very important. When optimizing a web page it’s important to have the keywords in your title tag, Meta description tag and you need to have the same keyword or phrase in the content of the page. You would be surprised of how many websites don’t have the right keywords in their content. Sometimes the content is being written by someone that knows nothing about search engine optimization. You don’t want to write your copy solely based on the keywords but if you can fit in the keywords in the first paragraph and as close to the front as possible that would be best.
In an ideal situation, before the web page’s copy is written, the keyword or keyword phrase is given to the copywriter. The copywriter uses that keyword or keyword phrase several times on the page. Let’s take a look at an example.
On the Healthy Soul Energy page about acupuncture, we mention the keyword phrase acupuncture. In the screen capture below, you will see that I’ve used the keyword in the beginning of my paragraph, in the 2nd line and near the end of the paragraph. You don’t want to use it to many times or too few. Just try to be natural about it and you will get good results.

keywords
Take a look at the content of your web pages. Take a look at the keywords that you are using on your web pages, in the body copy, in the headings, and elsewhere on the web page. Make sure that the keyword phrase that is in your title tag and Meta description tag is also mentioned on your web page.

Google’s search options were designed to allow users to refine their searches. That means users will use these to weed out irrelevant results and better find what they’re looking for.
It also means that there is a whole new set of guidelines that search engine marketers will need to think about…or does it? Perhaps it’s just the same guidelines, only emphasized to the user more now, thereby making it more important than ever for marketers and web site owners to consider them.
Some of the new search options are Videos, Forums, Reviews, Sorting Options, Images from the Page, More Text, Related Searches, Wonder Wheel, and Timelines just to name a few. Check out this short video from Google to see the new features in action.
Tell us what you think about the new options and how we might use SEO to bring in more traffic.

Google is set to make changes to its search ranking algorithm to combat the spike of links leading to malicious web pages appearing at the top of Google’s search results.
Obviously if Google fails to do something about this manipulation, users will lose trust and the good ole days of Google will be over fast.
Over the past few months, cybercriminals have been using blackhat SEO techniques to manipulate search rankings.
A Googler speaking on condition of anonymity told WebProNews a ranking change is pending that tackles spam of this kind. Once the change goes live, users shouldn’t see it “nearly as often.”
Google cannot control for content appearing on the Web at large, and historically its famous algorithm performed better than any other at weeding out spam on web pages and malicious results. Unfortunately, that was a version of the Web that was more static. The live Web presents entirely new challenges manifesting as the first major weakness the search engine has faced.

Let’s talk more about content and adding content to your web site. You might think that when planning a new web site or a new version of your web site that you can sit down, make a list of web pages and create the content and forget about it. That is simply not true. If you take a look at the current search results for most popular search phrases you will see that the best web sites showing up at the top of the search results are not old static web sites. They are fresh and they are updated on a regular basis and contain a lot of good new content on their subject. You cannot expect to create a few web pages and expect that web site to rank well with search engines (especially Google).

When it comes to Google and other top search engines they want to deliver the best user experience they can. When you use a search engine you expect to find what you are searching for. If you don’t then you will turn to another search engine. So if you are looking for “green widgets” then you would expect to find a web site that has a lot of good information about “green widgets”. So if you are selling green widgets how do you go about getting a top search engine ranking for green widgets? Creating more content on your web site about green widgets than any other web site on the internet will most likely bring you to the top of the search results. Show the search engines and your web site visitors that you are the expert on green widgets and you will be rewarded with good search results.
You want to add content on a regular basis. It’s important not to add all the content at once. If you have 50 articles you would want to add them on a regular basis to the site. You would want to post 5 articles at first and then one or two per week or one or two per month. Take a look at how often your competitors are adding content to their web sites. Get your website fresh and your content updated and the search engines will crawl you site often and rank you well. If you have a one or two web page site then most likely you’re not going to rank well in the search engines.

1. Verify your site is indexed and returned by Google with the right snippet and page title. Cut down or eliminate on duplicate titles and meta descriptions.
2. Label your images. Nobody likes (and some distrust) images with only the generic number tag as a description (i.e., 001.jpg). Use alt tags to label your images so that when they show up in Google Images, the text matches the picture. It helps Google identify the images, too.
3. If you have a brick-and-mortar location, double check and claim your business listing in Google Local.
4. Make sure your site is compatible with all the different browsers out there.
5. If Google returns Sitelinks for your site, give those a quick review, ensure the destination pages are functional or remove unwanted sitelinks through Webmaster Tools.

Google releases AdWords Editor Version 7.0, a mere two months after 6.5 came out. Google did not make any major announcements about the release, but just kind of put it out there.
New features listed in the release notes at the AdWords Editor Help Center include:
- First page bid estimates
- Keyword Quality Score
- Keyword Opportunities Locale
- Campaign targeting in the data view, and
- Send feedback to Google
In the AdWords Editor Forum, an AdWords Editor Advisor notes:
You will need to download your account again after upgrading to version 7.0. To save your comments and unposted changes, click ‘Backup then Update’ when you see the automatic prompt to upgrade. AdWords Editor will create a backup file that includes your comments and unposted changes. Then, after you’ve installed the new version, import the backup file by following the steps at http://www.google.com/support/adwordseditor/bin/answer.py?answer=38667. If you’d prefer to upgrade later, click ‘Don’t update’ in the prompt.
Additional updates to AdWords Editor include the ‘Volume’ column on the Keyword expansion tab of the Keyword Opportunities tool now showing absolute numbers (traffic for the last month) instead of scaled values, and the Keyword Opportunities tool is no longer available for draft accounts.
